Examine, research “Terrestrial Da Dia Reef” to develop tourism
Phu Yen province continuously finds areas with manylayers of rock in the mountains, similar in shape to the national landscape of DaDia Reef, An Ninh Dong commune, Tuy An district (this is a coastal beautyspot). Phu Yen authorities are surveying, protecting and researching for localtourism development.
During the quarying course of Phu Yen TransportConstruction Joint Stock Company (in An Phu commune, Tuy Hoa city) forconstruction, revealed shaped rocks that are no different from those in the DaDia Reef national landscape, at least 3 locations with quite large area, about1km radius.
Here, large rocks cracked along the longitudinalveins, forming vertical or oblique columns, in some places stretching ortilting. Rocks are mainly hexagonal, square, and layered cross-sections, like astacked disk.
Previously, at Vuc Hom area (An Linh commune, Tuy Andistrict) beautiful shaped rocks were also discovered, located close to thewater edge of Vuc Hom and partly eaten deep into the cliff. The stone blocksare square and erect, there are many trees on the top to create a wild space.These newly discovered rock areas are referred to by locals as “Ganh DaDia on land” of Phu Yen province.
Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yenprovince proposed Phu Yen People’s Committee to soon direct functional agenciesand companies that are quarrying, when finding areas with special stonestructures such as Da Dia Reef, stop exploiting and provide direction toprotect and research for tourism development. Mr. Pham Van Bay, Director of theDepartment of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen province, said that the companies’process of exploiting stone is about to reveal the area with a beautiful stoneshape, not about having particular knowledge but still licensing exploitationpermits.
Through the survey, he unit found that these rockareas have very good geological value and can serve tourism development. Thedepartment will send a report to the People’s Committee of Phu Yen province torequest quarrying companies to stop exploiting and protecting beautiful shapedrock areas. This is, first of all, according to the Heritage Law. Besides, forthe common development of the province, the functional sectors and businesseswill have the most appropriate calculations.
Talking to the reporter, Mr. Huynh Tan Viet, Member ofthe Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee,Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People’s Council, added that in front of the informationabout the discovery of many beautiful cliffs similar to the scenic Ganh Da Dia,but being in the quarrying area of some companies, he asked the authoritiesto report specifically and suggested stopping quarrying immediately. Accordingto Mr. Huynh Tan Viet, to ensure benefits for businesses, they can swap rockquarries in other places.
